• April 5, 2014:
• 10 AM: Suzuki Group Class
• 10 AM: Practice with piano
• 11 AM: Chamber Orchestra
• 1 PM: Leesburg Violin Studio Spring Recital

• April 6-9, 2014: No Lessons
• April 10, 2014: Regular lessons resume
• April 12, 2014: No Suzuki Group class or Chamber Orchestra
• April 13-20, 2014: Spring Break - No regular lessons will be taught.  I am here and happy to teach if you want a lesson.  Please contact me by email to schedule.
• April 21, 2014: Regular lessons resume
• April 26, 2014:
• 10 AM: Suzuki Group Class
• 11 AM: Chamber Orchestra
• 12 PM - 1 PM: Octet and Quartet
• May 3, 2014: No Suzuki Group Class or Chamber Orchestra
• May 10, 2014:
• 10 AM Suzuki Group Class

• May 15-22, 2014:  No lessons, Suzuki Group Class or Chamber Orchestra
• May 24, 2014:

2013 Schedule

Hello everyone.  

I have put together my schedule up through June 2013.  I updated the Calendar, Group/Orchestra Calendar and Recitals pages of my website, but for convenience please find the main points below:

  

• The Leesburg Violin Studio Spring Recital will take place on Saturday March 9^th, 2013 at 4 PM.  Please let me know by March 1^st if you would like to be part of the program.  The Chamber Orchestra will be performing during the Recital;
• Group classes and Chamber Orchestra practices will be held on:
• February 23th
• March 9^th
• April 6^th,  13^th, 20^th , and 27^th
• May 11^th, 18^th, and 25^th
• String Quartet Rehearsals will be held on:
• February 23th
• April 13^th and 27^th
• May 11^th and 25^th
• There will be no regular lessons during Spring Break:  from March 23^rd to March 31^st.  I will teach by appointment only.
• There will be no lessons on the following dates:
• March 23^rd
• April 30^th
• May 26^th
• The Leesburg Violin Studio End-of-Year Recital will take place on Sunday, June 2, 2013 at 3 PM.
• String Quartet Camp is scheduled from June 10, 2013 to June 15, 2013 (9:30 AM to 1:00 PM), with a concert on Saturday June 15^th.  More information about the camp should be available shortly.

Recital Date Set!

Hello everyone,

The Leeburg Violin Fall Recital has been set.  It will be held on Saturday October 6, 2012 at 6 PM at our usual location.   Please save the date on your calendars!

I wanted to let everyone know there will be no classes held from September 29, 2012 (Saturday) through October 1, 2012 (Monday).  There will be no group class or orchestra practice on Saturday, September 29, 2012.

Welcome to the Fall Session

I want to welcome all new and returning students to my studio and this new school year.  I have a few changes in the Group/Orchestra/Lesson Calendar:

• No classes this Saturday, September 8. 
• All group and Chamber Orchestra classes will begin next Saturday, September 15 as per the schedule calendar.

If you are out and about in Leesburg this Friday evening, September 7th, look for the Leesburg Violin Quartet playing at the Old Town Grill at around 7pm. My High School students will be playing quartets by Vivaldi and Telemann.

On September 23rd, at Ida Lee, the Loudoun Symphony will be playing a wonderful patriotic concert featuring Tchaikovsky's 1812 Overture. Check online at www.loudounsymphony.org for tickets.

I am sending an email to everyone to confirm lesson times, the day before your scheduled lesson this week. Let me know if I miss anyone.

Fall 2012 Schedule

Welcome back to another school year of violin and viola lessons!!! I have the calendar and also my studio policies outlined below to help in the scheduling for the coming year.  What is new for this year, is a Chamber Orchestra that will be available for anyone who can meet the audition requirement and make the schedule as well.

Important Dates:

• Group Class: Saturday mornings 8/4, 8/11, 8/18, 10 AM-11AM in the music room - multilevel class, all ages - Twinkle through Bach Double
• Chamber Orchestra: Saturday mornings 8/4, 8/11, 8/18, 11 AM-12:30 PM music room
• Recitals:  9/29/12. 1/26/13, 4/6/13, 5/19/13

There will be no Lessons on the following dates:

• 9/3 Labor Day
• 11/5-11/12 Teacher Break
• 11/21-11/25 Thanksgiving Break
• 12/22/12-1/1/13 Winter Holiday
• 3/23/13-4/1/13 Spring Break (lessons by appointment)
• 5/27 Memorial Day

The Summer Session ends on August 20th and the Fall Session will begin on September 4th.  Students participating in LSYO or regional auditions may schedule lessons by appointment during this break.

I would like to invite anyone who knows a cellist, to feel free to share the Chamber Orchestra information so that we may be able to enjoy a full orchestra experience.

Any violinist who would like to switch to viola, no problem, I am as dedicated a violist as I am a violinist.

Group Class is a great way to work on repertoire, playing with other musicians, and also a good way to learn new and advanced bowing techniques like spiccato, staccato, ricochet, legato, and sautille.

Recital

Our End-of-Year Recital will take place on Sunday, May 20, 2012 at 4pm at our usual location. There will be a reception after the recital.

On Saturday morning, May 19, 2012, from 10 AM to 11 AM, there will be a run through with the piano for anyone needing special piano accompaniment.

I will be teaching the current schedule through June 1, 2012. The summer schedule will begin on July 9, 2012. Anyone wishing lessons during the month of June should contact me via e-mail to set up a schedule.

It has been a wonderful year and I hope to see everyone again soon!

Summer and Fall Schedules

As we are nearing the end of our year at Leesburg Violin Studio LLC, I am ready to set up times/days for private lessons for the summer and fall sessions.  Here is the Studio schedule:

• The current studio session ends Friday, June 1, 2012;
• The summer session will start on Monday, July 9, 2012;
• The fall session will start tentatively Monday, September 10, 2012;

Anyone wanting lessons between June 1, 2012 and July 9, 2012 may request a day/time by contacting me during a lesson or via e-mail.  Limited slots for those wanting to continue lessons during this interim period are available upon request.

All students/parents should contact me as soon as possible either via e-mail, or during our next lesson, to schedule both summer and fall private lessons.  My group class schedule will be posted as it becomes available. This Sunday, May 6, 2012 at 4 pm, the Loudoun Chorale presents Mozart Requiem in D Minor.  Information on the concert is available on the Upcoming Concert box at the right of your screen.  Tickets can be purchased online or at the door.  Children under 13 are free!

For those looking for string summer camp opportunities, I will be teaching String Ensemble Camp at the Music Academy of Virginia (MAVA).  Camps will be held in June (Sterling) and August (South Riding), 2012.  If you would like more information, you can contact me directly via e-mail or see the MAVA website for more details.  Early registration ends May 20, 2012.  Registration closes June 4, 2012.  Registration and auditions are available online on the MAVA website.
